Big 10 Marts Seeks Assistant Store Managers!

Assistant Store Managers are vital to helping the Store Manager drive business success for Big10 Marts. Successful assistant store managers have been successful retail associates, either as cashiers or shift leads. They help the Store Manager run a successful store location and are groomed to one day become a Store Manager in their own right.

We’ve got immediate openings at our Quad Cities Big 10 Mart locations for an Assistant Store Manager. This is a great opportunity to build your career in retail – Big 10 Marts are growing and we like to promote from within. Our most successful assistant store managers are looked at as potential Store Managers, managing a store location of their own within our company.

So how do you land this opportunity? You will have at least two years’ experience in a retail environment, and if you have some leadership experience it would be a plus. Convenience store experience is not necessary, but if you possess that experience, it would place you above other candidates. In your skillset you will possess solid team building skills and a drive and desire to make your store the best in the area.

Here are the details on this opportunity:

Position summary:

Assists the store manager with supervising sales workers in a Big 10 Convenience Store. Does not have authority to hire, discipline, or terminate employees. You will be learning all the duties of the store, to include cashiering, stocking, cleaning, ordering, and doing paperwork. You will be the manager’s right hand in running the store.

Experience and Education:

Education: High School diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's Degree (or other 2-

year degree) or higher preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Retail/C-Store Industry, 6 months of leadership experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally

Stand for long periods of time

Ability to communicate verbally and in writing

Crouch, crawl, squat, climb as required
