JOB TITLE: AVP MORTGAGE LENDING

MORTGAGE LOAN SERVICING SUPERVISOR

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Supervise and coordinate activities in the mortgage lending department. Provide and coordinate mortgage lending staff community outreach and business development efforts by projecting a favorable image to external and internal publics. To greet members, conduct initial mortgage application interviews, process, review, and disburse mortgage loans. Promote and sell credit union products and services internally and externally. Project a professional image. Notify members of approvals and denials. Maintain confidentiality regarding all member transactions.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Conduct initial mortgage application interviews.

•Process, review and disburse mortgage loans.

•Gather and complete credit information.

•Analyze credit reports.

•Perform and coordinate business development efforts including; but not limited to identifying new mortgage market opportunities.

•Ability to communicate effectively with outside service providers.

•Lending authority as designated by policy.

•Develop and coordinate internal and external sales/service culture, communicating expectations to staff for cross selling other credit union products and services.

•Oversight for developing and communicating expectations to staff with a focus on growing both external and internal mortgage loan referral sources.

•Develop department and individual Mortgage Loan Department Representative I & II sales/service goals.

•Perform Mortgage Loan Officer and Mortgage Loan Department Representative duties as needed.

•Assist senior management in developing and implementing new products and services as needed.

•Attend all meetings as required.

•Maintain clean and professional work area and appearance.

•Maintain positive public relations and promote credit union within the community.

•Complete educational programs as required.

•Perform the following commitments of service to each and every member at all times:

•Make a good first impression, be dressed professionally and greet people with a smile and a firm handshake.

•Keeping a smile in my voice as well as on my face.

•Answering the telephone by the third ring.

•Call people by name and thank them.

•Assist senior management in cultivating and developing a robust loan compliance culture and training program.

•Assist senior management on forming a strategic vision for the mortgage loan department.

•Other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION:

  • •High School diploma or equivalent.

•State of Iowa – Credit Insurance License

•Minimum 2 years experience in financial industry.

•Minimum 1 year experience in public relations and/or marketing.

•Minimum 1 year experience in mortgage lending.

•Ability to receive and disperse funds in an accurate manner.

•Excellent communication and organizational skills.

•Pleasant outgoing personality.

•Personal computer experience.

•Able to run a 10 key calculator.

•Cash handling experience.

•Ability to perform under pressure.

•Thorough knowledge of Credit Consumer laws and loan compliance regulations.

•Knowledge of all laws and regulations regarding this position.

•Excellent analytical skills.

•Ability to sell.

•Excellent member service skills.

•Team player.

•Knowledge of credit union operations.

•Computer knowledge.

•Decision making skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Sedentary work – involves sitting most of the time, walking and standing are required occasionally.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

The following physical activities will be required on a day-to-day basis: climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, walking, pulling, fingering, feeling, hearing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, standing, pushing, lifting, grasping, talking, repetitive motions.

HUMAN RELATION SKILLS NEEDED:

The ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, and contacts outside of the credit union in a polite, courteous, timely, accurate and efficient manner. Patience in dealing with a difficult member.
